Bill Lykins was born and raised in the picturesque Ohio River Valley with an early exposure to bluegrass/acoustic music. He has often been quoted as saying, "I grew up with Bluegrass in my veins" as he was primarily influenced by his multi-talented father, musician Dale Lykins of the Bluegrass Frieghtliner's. At the age of 9, he began playing the guitar with his family's band, performing at many events and venues in the tri-state area. In 2018, Bill was inspired with an idea to develop a band with a new sound and genre of hard-driving Bluegrass that has given way to the creation of Bill Lykins & Intentional Grass.  His group embodies a unique combination of instrumental virtuosity and prolific talent impressing audiences with not only their cutting edge delivery, but also with an impressive catalog of fresh and original material. Collectively, Bill Lykins & Intentional Grass has an extensive resume of performance and recording experience with a combined talent spanning some 50 years.

LARRY UNGER - Bass/vocals

Larry is a long time veteran of the Bluegrass and Gospel scene. He first started working in the industry with the White Oak Valley Boys from 1980-1986, then performed with The Bluegrass Freightliner's. However, this was not his first experience with music. Larry's exposure to music began at an early age when his mother introduced him to the piano and guitar. At a young age, Larry and his mother performed together in their local church congregation, singing the old-time gospel favorites he has come to cherish throughout his life. Larry's love for all things Bluegrass reflects his heritage of family, friends, and his devout love of God. Over the past 40 years, he has had the honor of performing with an array of talented musicians. One of his career highlights was playing bass for Dr. Ralph Stanley. Music has always been a cornerstone of Larry's life and he looks forward to continuing that with Bill Lykins & Intentional Grass.
